Summit County Continuum of Care Receives $4,000 Grant from the Synthomer Foundation to Support Housing Provider Think Tank Facilitation
The Summit County Continuum of Care is proud to announce the receipt of a $4,000 grant from the Synthomer Foundation to support facilitation efforts for the Summit County Housing Provider Think Tank.
The Housing Provider Think Tank serves as a collaborative forum that brings together community-based organizations, faith-based institutions, grassroots leaders, housing providers, and public sector partners to strengthen Summit County’s response to homelessness and housing instability. The initiative is designed to create meaningful collaboration across sectors so that organizations of all sizes and backgrounds have a voice in shaping solutions that improve outcomes for individuals and families in need.
The Think Tank focuses on improving the homeless response system as a whole by increasing communication, strengthening partnerships, identifying service gaps, and developing coordinated strategies that make housing and supportive services more accessible and effective. By fostering collaboration among providers and community partners, the initiative helps ensure that individuals experiencing homelessness are connected to resources through a more unified, person-centered system rather than navigating fragmented services independently.
As the lead planning and coordinating body for homeless response efforts in the community, the Summit County Continuum of Care recognizes that sustainable solutions to homelessness require broad community engagement and shared responsibility. The Housing Provider Think Tank creates space for trusted neighborhood organizations, faith communities, grassroots advocates, and larger service systems to work alongside one another in identifying practical and innovative approaches to housing stability.
“This investment from the Synthomer Foundation represents more than financial support it represents a commitment to collaboration and community-driven solutions,” said Christopher Richardson, Executive Director of the Summit County Continuum of Care. “The Housing Provider Think Tank is bringing together organizations and leaders from every corner of our community, including grassroots groups, faith-based partners, nonprofit agencies, and local government, to strengthen how we respond to homelessness. When communities work together with shared purpose, we create stronger systems and better pathways to stability for the individuals and families we serve.”
The grant funding will support facilitation, coordination, and stakeholder engagement efforts that allow the Think Tank to continue convening partners and advancing meaningful discussions focused on housing access, supportive services, and long-term systems improvement.
The Summit County Continuum of Care extends its sincere appreciation to the Synthomer Foundation for its investment in collaborative efforts that strengthen communities and advance housing stability throughout Summit County.
