On behalf of Victim Assistance Program and the Summit Victim Assistance Academy, the Minority Behavioral Health Group, and the County of Summit ADM Board, we are delighted to invite you to a free interactive training workshop, “Working Collaboratively to Provide a Trauma Informed Crisis Response!”

The workshop will be held in person on Friday, March 13, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST. It is free, and lunch will be provided!

Location:  137 South Main Street, Suite 300, Akron, OH, 44308, with nearby parking available in the Summit County Parking Deck. Parking vouchers will be provided to attendees the day of the workshop.

Who would benefit from this workshop?

Ideally, attendees at this workshop are leaders from behavioral health providers (or from agencies or organizations who provide behavioral health services) who would be able to coordinate with their staff to provide behavioral health services, as a part of a Behavioral Health Operations Center, to victims following a mass traumatic event in Summit County. If you’re unable to attend but know another Summit County Behavioral Health Agency leader who may be, please feel free to forward this email invite!

What will I learn?

In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of crisis, trauma, and crisis intervention, and what it means to use a trauma informed approach when interacting with people in the wake of a mass traumatic event.

Also, participants will learn about short term and long-term therapeutic needs that may emerge following a mass traumatic event, and ways to identify a need for, and coordinate the delivery of, collaborative behavioral health services.

Finally, through guided, small group scenario run-throughs, participants will use their new skills to work collaboratively with other Summit County behavioral health providers on how to provide a trauma informed crisis response across multiple mass crisis situations.

Where do I sign up?
